Intel Atlanta LAN Fest /// Summer LAN 2011

So the Summer LAN is upon us all…WHOOO!!!

I have been packing (kinda) and doing laundry and organizing for the past few days. Whew I am tired, lol.

This is right on the heels of my spending almost a week at my parents because their jeep is having issues and they are borrowing my car. The week was spent spoiling the animals and entertaining my parents.

However, in 2 days, I will be leaving to drive 7 hours to Atlanta, Georgia to go game my brains out. I am pretty much going to be exhausted the whole time but it’ll be great. Then I’ll come back and do ever more laundry and cleaning…O_o

More info can be at the Official Event Site. The event is being held at the same location as it was this past December, and from first hand experience I can tell you that the hotel is lovely. The location is perfect because you can walk out of the hotel and fall into about 10 places to eat. The hotel is gorgeous and they give attendees of the LAN an almost half-priced deal on the rooms, which is pretty awesome.

The event itself will be from Friday at 5pm to Sunday around noon and will  have competitions for certain games as well as plenty of casual gaming and tons of prizes being given away. All the proceeds from this LAN go to a few different charities, including one of my favorites, Child’s Play. No not the horror movie with the creepy doll killing everyone, the gamers charity

“a community based charity grown and nurtured from the game culture and industry. Over 7 million dollars in donations of toys, games, books and cash for sick kids in children’s hospitals across North America and the world have been collected”

This isn’t the only charity that the LAN benefits but it’s pretty exciting and at least it’s helpful rather than just being a roomful of gamers being silly. And Smelly. Let me tell you…personal hygiene is greatly appreciated at the LAN…seriously.

If you want to show up, or just donate to the cause, click one of the links provided and come join the fun!!!
